What is freediving?

Freediving is the art of diving underwater on a single breath—without the use of any equipment. It’s one of the most natural ways to explore the ocean, relying purely on your body, your breath, and your ability to stay calm and relaxed.

🌊 Build Comfort in Water

Before anything else, we focus on helping you feel at home in the water.
Through guided relaxation and breathwork, you’ll learn how to stay calm, conserve energy, and enjoy being underwater—without panic or rush.

🧠 Understand the “Why”

You’ll learn the fundamentals of freediving in a simple, intuitive way:

  • How pressure affects your body
  • Why buoyancy changes with depth
  • What really causes the urge to breathe
  • How your body naturally adapts underwater

This knowledge builds confidence and removes fear.

🤿 Learn Essential Freediving Skills

From your first breath-hold to your first descent, you’ll be guided through:

  • Mask clearing & snorkel techniques
  • Breath-hold training
  • Controlled descents along a dive line
  • Body positioning & efficient movement

All practiced first in a pool, where you can learn comfortably.

⚖️ Master Equalisation & Safety

Safety is at the heart of everything we do.

  • Learn simple, effective equalisation techniques
  • Understand how to listen to your body
  • Practice buddy communication & dive protocols
  • Get introduced to basic rescue awareness

You’ll not just dive—you’ll dive responsibly.

👥 Dive Together, Learn Together

You’ll train in small groups with a strong buddy system:

  • 3 divers per rope
  • One dives, one supports
  • Constant supervision and guidance

This creates a safe, encouraging space to learn and grow.

We don’t chase depth—we build towards it.

  • Start with time and comfort underwater
  • Gradually explore depth as your confidence grows

About Me

I have always been passionate about swimming in the open waters since childhood. In more recent years as part of the Chennai Trekking Club I organised open water swimming sessions with beginners for many years. We also organised many Triathlons and a Swimathon with thousands of participants from across India. A few years ago I swam 11km in the sea from Besant Nagar to Marina.

Started my journey below the water free diving in the sea and quarries South of Chennai. I am a certified Scuba rescue diver and have done many independent dives in Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

Today, my goal is simple—to share this passion with others. Through this freediving course, I want to introduce fellow ocean enthusiasts to the magic of exploring beneath the surface, to help them feel more connected to the ocean, and to experience a kind of freedom that only freediving can offer.
